The goals of sustainable development were created by the United Nations in 2015. You will often find them under the abbreviation "SDGs" - Sustainable Development Goals. And because these - very ambitious - goals need to be financed, the UN approached banks, investors and insurance companies. Just to give you an idea, the required financial capital is estimated at around 5-7 trillion USD per year. These are no small sums. As of this writing, 517 organizations have joined the program.
